Green Chemistry! - MilliporeSigma Curiosity Lab In-Person
How can we create a high-quality glue that is safe for humans and the environment? Join our local MilliporeSigma scientists to find out how to design safer products for you and the planet!
This activity introduces students to green chemistry, or the design of products and processes that reduce or eliminate the use and creation of hazardous materials. You will learn about biomimicry, and how humans can use the natural world to gain inspiration when designing more environmentally safe products. You will design and create two different glues and learn about the principles of green chemistry that apply to the glue design. Of your two glues, which glue used the least amount of energy, produced the smallest amount of waste, used the fewest toxic materials, and worked the best?
All materials provided, all ages, caregiver required under age 8. Registration required. Choose the 3 pm or 4:30 pm session.
