LEGO SPIKE Club: Coding & Robotics for Ages 9 -15 - A six week series In-Person
Do you remember when the high school robotics team came to the library and so many kids said they wanted to learn that, but they were not old enough to be part of the high school group? Ms. Julie listened, and reached out to her great librarian friends for help to plan the "just right" program for ages 9-15.
Visiting Franklin Pierce University Librarian, Barrett Golay will lead a six week series on Wednesdays after school, where you will use our brand new LEGO SPIKE sets to learn all about coding and robotics, in a fun, friendly, small group setting.
What is SPIKE? "Combining colorful LEGO building elements, easy-to-use hardware, and an intuitive drag-and-drop coding language based on Scratch, the SPIKE Prime STEAM set continuously engages students through playful learning activities to think critically and solve complex problems, regardless of their learning level." We got both SPIKE Essential and Prime sets, so we could be sure to have the right learning tools for a wide age range.
You will learn with us, and even help unpack the boxes!
Registration is required, and we ask you to commit to the series as best as you can, so we can create a small group, club setting and build on our learning each week. Group size will be limited to eight participants. You only need to register for the first week.
